Being an artist…

I am passionate about creating art in general. I am mostly inspired by botanicals, and landscapes due to my love for the natural world. I strive to capture the essence of these subjects in my work, but I am also drawn to interesting forms and reflections. . Through my art, I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.

You can reach out to see my work and visit my home studio. I sell my art at local fairs, and you can also find my prints in various shops and galleries around Dorset.

Being an art tutor…

After studying a range of skills in college, I specialised in textile design at university, focusing on machine embroidery, embellishment, woven fabrics, and felting. I taught in mainstream secondary education for six years, covering KS3 to A-level, and then specialized in SEND for four years. In 2024, I moved into adult education to deepen my understanding of learners' needs in the creative sector. I consider it essential to speak openly with students, learn what inspires them, and incorporate relevant artists into their study. Art can be powerful for building self-esteem and confidence. I prioritise listening to my students, treating each with respect and patience. I believe that with the right artistic practice and guidance, anyone can realise their artistic potential.
